Parents are requested
to complete a medical form giving details of any medical
condition that applies to their child, as well as information
on any medication being taken.
Students should take
medication prescribed by a doctor at home if at all
possible. If students are required to take medication
at school, parents must inform the College, in writing,
about what medicine, how it should be stored, and when
it should be taken along with the dosage. It is particularly
important to inform the College if your child carries
medication with them for conditions such as asthma,
diabetes, anaphylactic shock etc.
There are five First
Aid trained personnel based in the General Office.
The First Aid role within the College is to deal with
injuries and sickness which occur whilst the student
is at College. Illness occurring outside of College
hours must be referred to your own GP/Health Centre.
In case of illness during
the college day, students should
- Ask to be excused from the lesson
- Be taken by another student to
the General Office/Medical Room.
If a students needs to be sent home,
the office will contact you, so please keep us up to
date with your emergency contact telephone numbers.
Should your child be absent due to
illness, please phone by 9.30am each day to confirm.
The College have been assigned two
qualified nurses Ruth Griffin and Louise Green. Should
you wish to contact them, you can do so through the
General Office who will arrange for them to contact
you the next time they are here.
